What is the SilverCard Prepaid MasterCard® card?
Your SilverCard is a prepaid MasterCard card, meaning you deposit your cash or checks to your card account and then use your SilverCard to access your cash whenever you want to make purchases or pay bills at merchants that accept Debit MasterCard. You can also withdraw cash at millions of ATMs worldwide.
How do I start using my SilverCard Prepaid MasterCard?
When you receive your SilverCard, call the phone number on the card to activate it. Then you will need to add cash to your card through Direct Deposit or load cash at a retail location near you. How do I make FREE purchases with my SilverCard?
When making a purchase, select "Credit" and sign the receipt provided by the merchant.
What features are FREE?
You will not be charged a fee when using your SilverCard for:

How long will it take to receive my SilverCard in the mail?
Your new SilverCard will arrive in the mail within 7 to 10 days after you successfully pass identification verification*. SilverCards are mailed through U.S. Mail, first class. If you do not receive your SilverCard, please call customer service at 1-877-889-5106.
How can I pay bills with my SilverCard?
You can make payments directly to your biller by phone or via their website. Or, you can pay bills with the automated bill payment service. You can send electronic payments to thousands of billers, even if they don't accept credit cards. If you want to pay a biller that isn't listed in our database, we can send them a paper check on your behalf.
How can I keep track of my card account?
You can find out your balance and any activity on your SilverCard by signing up for Account Alerts, which can be sent directly to your mobile phone or email. You can even customize your alerts to tell you what you want to know, such as your daily balance, bill payment activity, payment authorizations and more. You can also view your card account history 24/7 for FREE. Or, you may call customer service at 1-877-889-5106. There may be a fee when you speak to a live agent.
What's the easiest way to load my SilverCard with cash?
The easiest way to load your SilverCard is through Direct Deposit. You can add cash to your card account regularly and automatically by having your all or part of your paycheck deposited directly to your SilverCard account for FREE! Direct Deposit instructions will be mailed along with your SilverCard.
Are there other ways to load cash to my SilverCard?
Adding cash to your SilverCard is quick and easy. Go to any participating MoneyGram®, Western Union® or PreCash® location. You can also wire funds to and from your card to your bank account, or to the bank account of a friend or relative. Funds will be available the same business day they are received.

Direct Deposit Questions

What is Direct Deposit?
Direct Deposit allows employers or the government to automatically deposit your pay or government benefits directly into your SilverCard Prepaid MasterCard® account. The electronic payments are safe and secure. Payments reach your card account the day the check is issued, eliminating the need for you to stand in line to cash your check.
Am I eligible for Direct Deposit?
Yes. Most employers and government benefit providers offer Direct Deposit as a method to receive your pay. Check with your employer or benefits provider. Then give them the voided check that came with your SilverCard or download the SilverCard Direct Deposit Form to get started.
How do I start Direct Deposit on my SilverCard?
First, ask your employer or benefits provider if Direct Deposit is available. Then you can either give them the voided check that came with your SilverCard, download the Direct Deposit form or call 1-877-889-5106. Generally, it takes 1-2 pay periods for your employer to start depositing your paycheck in your SilverCard MasterCard account. Your money is safe and protected by the MasterCard Zero Liability policy.
When will my money be available on my SilverCard?
Your money will be available on your SilverCard on your payday or the date the check is issued.
How do I know if my money was deposited to my SilverCard account?
Sign up to access your SilverCard account online 24/7 at You can check your balance and manage your card account online. Also, sign up to receive your balance information through our free SMS Text Alert service sent to your cell phone or email.
If I change jobs, can I restart Direct Deposit?
Yes. To restart Direct Deposit on your SilverCard MasterCard, fill out a new Direct Deposit form, and give it to your new employer. The Direct Deposits from your previous job will automatically stop.
Can I use Direct Deposit for one time deposits?
Yes. You can deposit your tax refund or other one time payments from institutions that offer Direct Deposit onto your SilverCard. You would need to provide the information on the Direct Deposit form. Login to your online card account to download this information.

Bill Pay Questions

Can I pay all of my bills with my SilverCard?
Yes! It's easy to pay any biller directly over the Internet or telephone. Just use your biller's existing payment system. You can also pay bills with the SilverCard Bill Pay service from your online cardholder account. Do one-time payments or set up recurring payments. View the list of more than 5,000 billers in the system. Don't see your biller, simply add a new biller to your list.
How much does it cost to use the online Bill Pay service?
The online Bill Pay service is FREE. Long gone are days of standing in line and money order fees just to pay your bills. You can also pay any biller directly over the Internet or telephone.
How soon will my payments be received?
We recommend that you send online payments at least five business days before the due date to make sure they arrive on time.
How do I make a payment?
Just pay the biller directly through their own online or telephone payment system. Or, log in to your account and select Click-n-Pay™ from the left-hand side. Set up your biller's information (name, address, phone, account number). Then, determine how much you want to pay and when. Once you've set up a biller, you can easily enter a bill payment either through the website or through the SilverCard's automated voice response telephone service.

How do I add cash to my SilverCard Prepaid MasterCard® account?
Adding cash to your SilverCard is quick and easy. Go to any participating MoneyGram®, Western Union® or PreCash® location. You can also wire funds to and from your card to your bank account, or to the bank account of a friend or relative. Funds will be available the same business day they are received.
Where can I find a location to add cash to my SilverCard Prepaid MasterCard?
With more than 100,000 locations nationwide, it's easy to load your SilverCard with cash and be on your way to the same convenience and freedom of a credit card. Log in to your cardholder account or call 1-877-889-5106 to find a retail location near you. Account Security Questions

What do I do if my SilverCard Prepaid MasterCard® card is lost or stolen?
Rest easy. Call SilverCard Customer Service immediately at 1-877-889-5106 to report your lost or stolen card. We will cancel your card and issue a new one to you within 7-10 days.
What if I detect suspicious activity or transactions on my SilverCard account that I did not authorize?
First, log in to your account to see what purchases have been made. If you see anything suspicious, first call the merchant where the transaction occurred. They provide the fastest way for you to get a refund. Discuss your situation with them and if you are unable to come to a resolution, call customer service immediately at 1-877-889-5106 and a representative will help you. Click here to download a Disputed Transactions packet. Follow the detailed instructions of the first two pages of the packet. Both the Disputed Transactions Claim Form and the Affidavit of Fraud Form need to be completed and signed for your claim to be processed if you are unable to come to an agreement with the merchant.
How do I file a claim or dispute a transaction?

Fill out and sign the Disputed Transactions Claim Form and the Affidavit of Fraud Form, and fax to 713-600-2929 along with any documentation showing the fraudulent or disputed transactions. What if I forget my PIN or suspect someone else knows it?
Avoid this problem before it happens by keeping your PIN a secret. Never share it with anyone. If you have forgotten your PIN or think someone else might be using it, please call us at 1-877-889-5106 to have a new PIN issued.

How do I transfer cash to family or friends who have a SilverCard?
Card-to-card transfers are the quickest, easiest, most secure way to send cash to a friend or family member's SilverCard account. Simply log in to your online account and choose an existing Buddy or family member, or enter the required information to send to a new Buddy. Click here to start.
